British Silver Week
Rachel has been participating in British Silver Week again this year, and the launch event at the Pangolin Gallery, London, May 9-13 was a great success with a full week of contemporary silver on display and available for sale. Rachel showed her work on the Monday and Wednesday, with a positive response to her work on both days.
Rachel will be exhibiting again with BSW in August, sending pieces of her work out to Kuala Lumpur as part of a selling exhibition. See exhibition listing for full details.

Exhibitions
Visit my Exhibitions page to get full details of where I will be showing my work throughout the rest of 2011 - there are plenty of opportunities to meet me and see my work before the year is out!
This is an exciting year for me as it is my 25th year in business! I have made a limited edition of silver and enamel pins to mark the occasion, available in a range of colours which will be on sale from the end of September, starting at the Goldsmiths' Fair, Week One, 26th September - 2nd October. More details to follow in July.
Later in the autumn I will also be exhibiting at Wellington College, Crowthorne, at the Hereford Contemporary Craft Fair, the 'Desire' Jewellery and Silversmithing show in Winchester and finally at 'Made by Hand', a new craft show for me, held at Tredegar House in South Wales.
I hope you will be able to attend one of these events and I look forward to seeing you!
Enamel Workshops
This May many of the Guild of Enamellers Members, including Rachel got together to set up as many enamel workshops as possible around the UK as part of the Craft and Design Month initiative. www.craftanddesignmoth.net Rachel ran three days in her own workshop, which were all fully booked and were thoroughly enjoyed by all her students!
"Today I learnt the basics of enamelling to a fine finish. This is exactly what I wanted to know, especially how to do it properly". Annette
"The best part of my day was the feeling of acomplishing something skilled and worthwhile". Jenny
Rachel now has two more dates for classes in July, which are already filling up fast, so if you'd like to learn how to enamel on silver, or develop your enamel skills, go to the Workshops page to get more details.
Rachel has been teaching jewellery and enamelling for over twenty years and runs classes at her workshop in Redditch.
The courses provide a relaxed and friendly environment for students of all levels from beginners through to the more experienced, to enjoy learning with the common aim of building on and improving skills. The next dates for classes are now confirmed for July. See the Workshops page for full details.

This year Rachel gave a talk about how she sells her work, called 'Maker to Merchant'. Rachel also won two prizes for her enamel work - the Fred Barnes Memorial Award for her basse taille technique and the Themed Exhibition by popular vote.
The Guild will be at Art in Action this July, running enamel classes throughout everyday of the show. To book a place contact the show organisers.

Goldsmiths' Craft and Design Council Awards 2011
This March Rachel has won another Silver Award in the Senior Enamellers section for her stunning silver and enamel Peardrop Necklace. Enamelled on both sides, each peardrop unit has two different blended colourways - a turquoise mix on one side and a soft lilac mix on the other, allowing the necklace to be worn either way - two necklaces in one! Rachel said, 'I am thrilled to win this award in my special year marking my 25 years of enamelling'. Her achievement follows on from her Silver Awards won in 2010.
